Part 2 Algarve: The Most Beautiful Beaches in the East
After exploring the dreamy beaches of Western Algarve, we’re heading east!
Geographically, the Algarve stretches along Portugal’s entire southern coast and is divided into two main regions: Barlavento (West Algarve) and Sotavento (East Algarve). While the west is known for its dramatic cliffs and wild coves, the east offers long, fine sandy beaches and calmer waters. This time, we’re focusing on the most stunning beaches in the Faro District, from Albufeira to the Spanish border. Here, you’ll find spectacular coves, endless sandy shores, and a landscape so unique it’s often compared to the Northern California coastline. But the Algarve has a charm all its own – from vibrant, lively beaches to hidden oases for those seeking peace and quiet.
Albufeira: Fiery Cliffs & The Best Bacalhau
From Carvoeiro, we move on to Albufeira, where I check into the Pine Cliffs Hotel. And what can I say? This hotel is an absolute dream! Perched high on the cliffs, it towers majestically over the Atlantic, as if straight out of a luxury catalog. The view? Breathtaking. The morning sun bathes the terrace in golden light while the sound of the ocean provides the perfect soundtrack. I could stay here forever!

One of the most striking features of Albufeira’s coastline is its fiery red cliffs. Algarve: The Most Beautiful Beaches in the East:They glow in the sunlight, as if wrapped in flames – a sight I won’t forget anytime soon. The pine trees lining the cliffs add a Mediterranean feel, their scent blending with the salty sea air, turning every walk into a sensory experience. No wonder this spot is among the most spectacular landscapes in the Algarve!
The resort is ideally located to explore some of the region’s best beaches – from endless sandy stretches to hidden coves just waiting to be discovered.
Small downside: It’s not the quietest place at night, with frequent weddings and parties lasting late into the night. If you’re looking for absolute peace, consider visiting just for the experience – it’s still worth it!
Praia da Falésia: A Natural Spectacle in Red & Blue
This Faro District beach is a sensation! Praia da Falésia is one of the most famous beaches in the Algarve – and for good reason. Here, endless golden sand meets dramatic, glowing red cliffs, creating a spectacular contrast against the deep blue ocean.

Restaurants, cafés, and bars are just steps away, making it easy to grab a cold drink or enjoy a traditional Portuguese dish after a sun-soaked afternoon.

All the images shown above are of Albufeira, a popular tourist destination located in the Algarve region of Portugal. Known for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and charming old town, Albufeira attracts visitors from around the world. Here are some key highlights:

Bars and clubs along the Strip offer lively entertainment.

However, for a more relaxed experience, check out Praia do Meco or Praia das Adegas, which have official nudist-friendly areas. In more conservative or family-friendly spots, it might draw some attention. If in doubt, just take a look around or find a quieter section of the beach.
